The Laundry Room Cometh...

So as I mentioned in the last post we have been replacing the part of the house that masqueraded as our laundry room. I say it this way in as much as any resemblance to even remotely sound structural practices in the framing and finishing of this room were purely accidental. The former version of this room is exactly why we, collectively, have a Building: Code, Department, Permits, Inspectors and so on.

So as a test of the video-ish capabilities here is a clip of our progress to date. Note that the total time from start to end represents 11 working days.

Darcie has also been making great headway on refinishing all the teak chairs we use outside and the deck that we recently finished constructing (I was horribly remiss here in that while the deck has been done for several years!!!!!??? I have only just finished the railings) - Looks nice though (see last post).

On a separate note we spent a lovely weekend with Darcie's cousin Alex and his family at their newly renovated shack in Moss Beach on the Coast just North of Halfmoon Bay. It was a very relaxing moment of much-deserved R&R (they even have a hot tub!) There was much gourmet cooking by Alex and yours truly. We even splurged on some King Salmon (imported from Alaska alas) which was mighty and served us through three meals in three incarnations: grilled on night one, flaked into sandwiches on day two and finally a spectacular pasta on night two.

And now it is back to repairing the laundry room and refinishing the chairs.
